Visual & Interdisciplinary Art
I’m Robinson Moreno, Venezuelan-Colombian artist based in Caracas. In my work, I use street art, engraving, and moving images as tools for social denouncement, solidarity, and collective transformation. My creative expression began through hundreds of graffiti and wallpaper interventions on Caracas and Bogota's streets, often with images grounded on my working-class and peasant family roots. Over the years, my artistic practice has been informed by experiences with formal art training and grassroots militancy.
My studies in Visual Arts and Visual Communication let me incorporate new layers of reflection and control over my naturally naive, visceral, and grotesque visual style. My work also explores social practice and transformative action, collaborating with environmental and gender collectives from Caracas in the production of online and offline art interventions and campaigns.
My current obsessions are Venezuelan indigenous mythology, memories of my ancestors, and my personal experiences in Caracas's underground. I’m looking at them through the mirror of the unconscious and magical realism.
