Nancy Grossman is the Associate Director of the Honors Program at DePaul University, where she teaches courses in Creative Writing, Young Adult Fiction, Community Service Studies, and Harry Potter. 

Her first novel, A World Away, written in part during two Ragdale residencies, was published by Disney-Hyperion in 2012. The novel was named by Kirkus Reviews as one of the best teen books of 2012, and was translated into German and Turkish.

Nancy received BSW and MSW degrees from the University of Illinois, and an MA in The Teaching of Writing from Columbia College.

She is currently working on a middle grade novel that addresses the issue of incarceration and its impact on families. She dreams of adding it to the Ragdale Library.
