Maria T. Allocco is a mixed-race Korean and Italian writer and the first person accepted into both Columbia University’s Nonfiction and Poetry Master’s programs. An Academy of American Poets Prize recipient, Maria is at work on a collection of nonfiction pieces. She’s a two-time Voices of Our Nation and Tin House fellowship recipient and has published in The Rumpus, The Lantern Review, The Georgia Review, The Los Angeles Review, TAYO Magazine, Tin House, and Pariahs: Writing From Outside the Margins. As Maria shared in The New Yorker: “I write mixed-genre pieces on mixed-race experience.”
