Stephanie Carpenter’s collection of short stories, Missing Persons, won the Press 53 Award for Short Fiction and was published in 2017. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Copper Nickel, Ecotone, Witness, The Missouri Review, Big Fiction, and other journals. She recently completed a pair of short novels about female artists in nineteenth-century New England, and she is currently at work on a collection of geographically-linked short stories set in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, where she lives. Stephanie holds an MFA from Syracuse University and a PhD from the University of Missouri. She is Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Michigan Tech University.
