After 18 years of service at Post Canada, Serge Marchetta quits in 1993 and starts a new career as an art visual artist. Graduate from Université du Québec à Montréal in 1995, Marchetta has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Montreal, in the Province of Québec, Europe and United States. He participated in individual residencies in France, Italy, Iceland, and United States. He is also a grant recipient from the Foundation Tenot, France, Ragdale Foundation, USA, and Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec. Since 2011, in parallel with his individual practice, he works in collaboration with Masha Ryskin an artist living in United States. The first series of their collaborative drawings was presented at the Hillel Gallery in Providence, RI in 2011. They went on to exhibit in Montreal in 2013, Norway in 2014, at the Maitland Art and History Museum in Florida in 2017, the Chazan Gallery in Providence, RI in 2018, Parallel Space in Providence, RI in 2021. They also have participated in numerous artist residencies in United States, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Israel, and Germany.
