Evanston, IL
Karla Thomas is a queer black creative human. Her words and thoughts are her latest art form; she has designed everything from sculptures, to social movements, to full-blown houses from the ground up. Her writing reflects her passion for anti-oppressive activism and senses around Black and queer experiences and the fight for a more just existence. She is using her time at Ragdale to work on two manuscripts; a non-fiction race and racism focused book entitled "Waking up Black" and a children's that she is penning with her 8 year old non-binary kiddo called "Tru(e) Me: Gender Unbound."
