Allison Bulger is a fiction writer, a technical writer, and a science-fantasy enthusiast. Her short stories have been published in Salamander and O’Possum magazines, and she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Allison earned her MFA from NYU where she was an adjunct professor, a Goldwater Fellow, and the 2016 recipient of the Axinn Foundation Prize. Her writing has been supported by residencies and grants from 100 W Corsicana in Texas, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Navarro Council for the Arts, Hambidge Arts Center in Georgia, and Ragdale in Illinois. Allison’s work seeks to subvert conventions of genre and she frequently collaborates with visual artists. Works-in-progress include a science fiction series, a project centering on the medieval Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno, and a novel about the UFO phenomenon. Most recently she was a finalist for the 2020 Salamander Fiction Prize.
