Roberta Rubin has been a bookseller for almost 40 years. For over 30 years, she owned the famed The Book Stall at Chestnut Court in Winnetka IL. It is one of the most celebrated independent bookstores in the country. An active reader, she has hosted a radio show on WFMT sharing the latest books and has led numerous book clubs both in her shop and around Chicagoland.

She received the 2012 Bookstore of the Year honor from Publishers Weekly.

Formerly, she was a member of the Board of Directors for the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression.

Currently, she serves as co-chair on the Board of Directors for the Writer’s Museum of America. She is also actively engaged on the Board of the Ragdale Foundation and the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Four Corners.

She is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
