Kim Dotty Hachmann, born 1974 in Hamburg, Germany, currently based in Berlin. She studied Visual /Communications and Fine Arts focusing on new media at Kunsthochschule Kassel (KhK). Studies from 1996–2004 under Prof. Bjørn Melhus, Prof. Rolf Lobeck, Prof. Nicolaus Ott, Prof. Bernard Stein. Kim Dotty earned her Master’s Degree “with honors” and has been appointed to the status of “Meisterschülerin”. In 2002 she won the KhK Academy Award. Since 2001 Kim Dotty Hachmann has succesfully taken part in international exhibitions and media art festivals. She has been selected for Artist in Residence programs worldwide such as CAC SES VOLTES in Palma, Spain, Kultivator in Sweden, Treasure Hill Artist Village in Taipei (Taiwan), Casa das Caldeiras in São Paulo (Brazil), Künstlerhäuser Worpswede, Künstlerhaus Lukas and Pilotprojekt Gropiusstadt in Germany. /Currently Kim Dotty Hachmann holds a lectureship in Motion Design at hdpk, Hochschule der Populären Künste in Berlin. Last year she won the german new media art award together with her students. This year she won the art award from the int. art foundation Die Höge as well as she got accepted to Ragdale Artist Program U.S.A. for 2016.
