Call for Alumni Artwork

Call for Alumni Artwork

1-2 artists will be selected to showcase an exhibition in the Barnhouse dining room and/or Board Room. Ragdale is also seeking alumni artwork to add to our collection and enhance the experience of residents and guests.

Eligibility: Visual artist or curators who are alumni (as featured artist and/or curator)

1. A 6-month exhibition opportunity in the Barnhouse dining room and/or board room will be awarded to one or two artists.

2. Loaned or donated works will be displayed in Barnhouse live/work spaces.

Exhibition Spaces:

1. Dining Room: long wall- 20’x 8’. Short wall- 7’6”x 5’6”. (Ragdale’s preference is that work is not installed and that the angel wing remains on the short wall. Since this is where Chef Linda presents the evening meal, work on this wall is subject to food spills!)

2. Board Room: long wall, with three windows 55’x 8”. Short wall, space for two works on either side of the door 3’x4’ each.

Please note all measurements approximate

Artwork: 2-D artworks of any medium or 3-D wall hung work. If selected, please plan to include all materials required for installation. Please allow at least 30 days notice to have work returned. All inquiries to purchase will be directed to the artist, with 100% of proceeds to the artist. Wall text, price list, business cards may also be included.

Deadline: May 15, 2017. 11:59pm CST

Application: requires images of up to 10 artworks, an image list, and an optional artist statement/ description of the proposed exhibition. If you wish to donate or lend selected works to Ragdale for 1 year or longer, please indicate this in your application.

Please note, not all lent or donated artworks can be accepted. A limited number of pieces will be accepted into Ragdale’s collection based upon the following criteria: a diversity of artists and mediums represented, a maximum of 2 works per artist, and preference for work created in the last 5 years. Work submitted need not be created while in residence at Ragdale.
